GLORIFY THE NATURE!

Welcome, Bem-vindos, to Ecological Day!

Ever since I have been living in Enseada Azul I have the nature all around me!

Ecology (from Greek: οίκος, oikos, "household"; and λόγος, logos, "knowledge") is the scientific study of the distribution and abundance of life and the interaction between organisms and their environment. The environment of an organism includes physical properties, which can be described as the sum of local abiotic factors such as insolation (sunlight), climate, and geology, and biotic factors, which are other organisms that share its habitat. The word "ecology" is often used more loosely in such terms as social ecology and deep ecology and in common parlance as a synonym for the nature environment or environmentalism. Likewise "ecologic" or "ecological" is often taken in the sense of environmentally friendly. The term ecology or oekologie was coined by the German biologist Ernst Haeckel in 1866, when he defined it as "the comprehensive science of the relationship of the organism to the environment.(Wikipedia)

(Wikipedia)

Jurumirim Dam is a large reservoir built in 1962 for generating hydroelectricity. It is located in the upper region of the Paranapanema River (Upper Paraná basin), State of São Paulo, Brazil. The reservoir receives two large tributaries on its southern side, the Paranapanema and Taquari rivers, and several small rivers and streams enter the northern shore. Jurumirim's dam dimension: area 173,359 sq mile; perimeter 799,083 miles and the water's volume 7.007,51 hm³. The water is clean and non-polluted. The Jurumirim reservoir further to being situated in an area of great economic development, in the State of São Paulo, is also a place for aquatic sports, pleasure and tourism activities. Jurumirim was the second hydro-electric utilization of the Paranapanema’s River. The Paranapanema River is a natural limit between the States of Paraná and São Paulo.

JURUMIRIM DAM AS VIEWED FROM GOOGLE EARTH

As many friends ask me where is located Jurumirim's Dam, I went to Google Earth to view Jurumirim's dam, my house in Enseada Azul, the city of Avaré and the city of São Paulo, in Brazil.

From the top of my house’s water reservoir you can see the Bridge "Carvalho Pinto" that leads to Avaré. This bridge was built to span Jurumirim's Dam.
